Gifts

In line with WOSM’s Code of Conduct, staff members must ensure that an outside party would not interpret any gift as an attempt to improperly influence a decision or gain an improper advantage. All gifts are to be symbolic and reflect the Scouting spirit.

It is inappropriate for staff to accept an honorarium, gift, or similar means of payment. Staff and members of their immediate family should decline promotional materials beyond symbolic value (anything in excess of $50 USD) from third parties (contractors, consultants, suppliers, etc.) or National Scout Organizations. If refusal to accept the gift would cause offense or embarrassment, staff may accept the gift on behalf of the WSB and then declare it to the relevant local human resources team.
